Properties

The main component is fatty acid triglyceride. Its fatty acid components (%): cardamom acid 2-8, palmitic acid 24-37, stearic acid 14-29, oleic acid 40-50, linoleic acid 1-5. white or slightly yellow waxy solid, with the special odor of tallow. Insoluble in water, soluble in chloroform, carbon disulfide. Due to the different methods of production, usually tallow contains free fatty acids, gums and proteins, such as used in the manufacture of high-grade soap, need to be refined to remove gums and odors, improve the color. The stability is better than lard and unhydrogenated vegetable oil. After alkaline refining, decolorization and deodorization, it is light yellow to colorless liquid at 54℃.


Preparation method

Usage

It can be used in the manufacture of soap, laundry soap, stearic acid, stearate salts and so on. It is also the main raw material for the manufacture of high grade fatty alcohol, fatty amine, all kinds of surfactants, lubricating grease, fabric softener and so on.
