What is granuline? What are the uses?

Granular alkali is granular sodium hydroxide, also known as bead alkali, which is an important chemical raw material. According to the particle size, it can be divided into coarse-grained alkali and microgranular alkali. Granular alkali has strong alkalinity and strong hygroscopicity, soluble in water, exothermic when dissolved, the aqueous solution is alkaline, has a slippery feeling, is extremely corrosive, and has a corrosive effect on fiber, skin, glass, ceramics, etc. Hydrogen is released by reacting with metal aluminum and zinc, non-metal boron and silicon; disproportionation reaction with halogens such as chlorine, bromine, iodine; It neutralizes with acids to form salt and water.

Granular alkali uses
1. The chemical industry is often used in the manufacture of formic acid, oxalic acid, borax, phenol, soap, synthetic fatty acids, synthetic detergents, sodium cyanide, etc.
2. In the textile printing and dyeing industry, it is used as a solvent for cotton desizing agent, scouring agent, mercerizing agent and vat dye and Haichang blue dye.
3. Manufacture of aluminum hydroxide, alumina and metal surface treatment agents for the smelting industry.
4. It is used as acid neutralizer, decolorizing agent and deodorant in the instrument industry.
5. The adhesive industry is used as a starch gelatinizing agent and neutralizing agent.
6. In addition, it is widely used in enamel, medicine, cosmetics, tanning, coatings, pesticides, glass and other industries.
In most industrial applications, granular soda is better than flake soda and other solid alkalis, in solid alkali, the most commonly used is flake soda and granular soda, but in industrial applications granular soda is better than flake soda, granular alkali is more difficult and complex than flake soda production process, therefore, the price of granular soda is higher than that of flake soda.
